Jumeira Road after Salik
Smooth leisurely drive with full view of all the greeneries, street red bricks in the walkways ,tall street posts sans electric wires, palm trees are the usual expected feast for your eye's experience when you pass this beautiful Road along the or near the beach side.
Comes the very controversial piece of conversation here in Dubai which becomes the introductory statement for every chance conversation be it a meeting anywhere like in elevators, chance meeting in the hallway, car lifts etc...-"Salik".Lo and behold, the usual 3 to 5 cars in a given time that speeds off to this beautiful Road turns into an Edsa look road with a lot of cars trying to inch its way or outpass each other to reach their destinations.
Days of a very relax cruising along the most beautiful main road of Dubai is now history........
Salik has made this serene ,scenic road into an ordinary stretch of pavement for auto tires to blacken off its face.A dissapointment indeed for loosing Jumeira Road's classy street identity.
Salik anyone???

Bird perched on the glass panel!
How would you feel having someone greeting you every morning?Feels good i suppose! Its a nice way starting the day with a good morning statement for it sets the mood for you to be okey for the rest of day.But what if its not a person but another creature?Yes, there is this particular bird standing and tapping thru my window glass panel everyday.Probably the bird is just looking for food or simply resting there. But i do take it as a morning greeting...starting a great day ahead for me to be always cheerful just like the very colorful, playful, light feathered wing specie.
It reminds me of the passage "Worry not,Looked at the birds .....arent you more special than them,i will take care of your needs for you are my beloved one".
I believe that we really have to open our thoughts to something very ordinary yet very important, that is to appreciate everything and see the inate good things in anything that we encounter or experience every waking hour for this will make us feel happy,at peace and positive in our actions.

Bus no.93........
Passengers ought to board in the drivers door to pay 2.50 dirhams and get a print out ticket automatically churned by a machine.
The first three front row seats right behind the driver is exclusively for women and they are first to board until all the designated seats are taken then it would be the men's turn to board.
For a commuter like me its the most important Public vehicle to traverse the distance of Satwa and the Greens where i am holding office if i am not taking the car for work.
I Got up early to catch Bus no.93 in the terminal station but it took 1 hour to wait and board the same.Traversing Al Wasl the public transport was stopped by the inspector and he demanded presentation of each and every passengers ticket while the bus is in full stop. You could just imagine the long wait for the man garbed in full white took time to check all the passengers.
It was past 8:00 am when i finally reached my destination.
Yes i am an office worker again!

Company ID......
I belong!!!!How very reassuring!!! thats what comes to my mind when i received from Mabi a co-employee of mine here in the office ,the company breast plate tag with my name on it beautifully printed. yes , somehow electricity creeps into my system whenever my name is mentioned or called upon, its like music..(but more into that in another entry)
In a given organization ,Identification Card or whatever you call it is customarily issued to each and every member and as such serves as the first proof that indeed you belong or you are a bonafide member.
Remember the motto of Security guards in Manila....
No ID No Entry!
Indeed its a very important piece of invention that we usually take for granted except when we are required one during bank transactions or in any acts which requires proof of identity.(At least there in Manila).
But here in Dubai the same ordinary piece of man's creativity takes into a new meaning and importance to this very neophyte member of the organization.
Yes its very assuring that i am now one of them! i believe that i am now recognised as a member of this organization here in Mata Hari land. Accepted as an employee..
Hopefully paycheck comes sooner...
Smile!! everyone...

Cruising Al Wasl Road going to the office, when suddenly a car from behind tried to beat the traffic light and speed off to turn left in the street crossing.good that he did not went turtle flipflop cause it will definetely inconvenence others or might cause traffic accident get people hurt or inthe process takes one life- god forbids.. at that particular time i was listening to the song "pananagutan" and somehow got into the message which loosely translated "we are all responsible for each other" hope i got it right!!
Yes, indeed each and one of us is responsible not only for others but for what we do,and that leads me to a specific dictum way back in college which to date i still remember" Every person must in the exercise of his right,in the performance of his duty act with justice, give everyone his due, observe honesty and good faith"
How i love quoting this and pondering upon it with my students in class in whatever subject and whenever there is an opportunity to inject the said topic to my lectures then in Manila.
If only people would be responsible enough!!!Whoa!!whata day so start of....
Anyway...Have great day ahead!!! smile everyone life is great no matter what,we have to be always happy!!!!!
